Bios flash to 9800xt basic question

I've been reading up about flashing a radeon 9800 np or pro to xt levels, but do I have to have the 256bit version radeon 9800 to flash it to a 9800xt? I know that I have to have the samsung memory. Also do they even make a 9800 np? I want to get an xt but don't have the money so I was considering buying a 9800np or pro and flashing to xt. Time to upgrade from my crappy 9200se that sucks even though its pushed to its max.

All the 9800 have a 256-bit memory interface but the amount of memory is 256meg on the xt cards..

9800np can be flashed to 9800 PRo

So it doesn't matter how much ram the card has as long as it has the r350 core. Ok thanks!
