Correct, the flash after the O/S boot screen is a resolution change, from 640x480x16@60Hz to whatever your desktop resolution is.

Mine does that too.......But it only does one quick blimp, then everything is fine. Dimazz is right, it's normal screen resolution change-over.

Your problem sounds similar to whats happening to me. Have you overclocked your card at all? I have seen other people complaining of similar problems in other forums, it might be a general problem with radeons.... I have a Saphire Radeon 9600 Pro and during certain benchmarks i get horizontal lines across the screen that generally move upwards, it looks kind of like a flashing. I'm not sure why its happening though.

yeah man you hit the nail on the head with the discription. no i don't have any overclocking done to it though. hopefully it isn't a bad thing. i mean hey long as it runs once the os gets loaded.. rite?

did you know that power color is the only maker I've seen make 256mb Radeon 9600??

and the worst part is that people like you gets suckered into buying it...it's actually slower then 128mb sapphires or any other ones.... I read somewhere that the RAM they're using are low grade and that it's not DDR2... or something like it... even though it has a bigger memory it's slower..... why are people always so attracted to numbers???

anyways... Are you seeing distortions?? OCing?... like BA said, it might be the monitor flickering when it's first being used/ right after being powered on
