Default Upgrading my Laptop Video Card?

This is more of a Video card question than a laptop one, that's why it's here.

Here's my Laptop specs:
Core 2 Duo T-5250
3GB RAM
250GB HD
ATI Mobility Radeon HD 2400 XT

I played on a laptop with 2GB of Ram and the Radeon 2600XT and it had far faster graphics. I don't know what the actual difference is between them. I want to know if my Video Card can be upgraded? Here's the pics of the inside. I've never put one in before, so I have no idea.

What you've arrowed in the photo is actually the wireless card. Which incidently is upgradable.

As for the Radeon 2600 it's doubtless a better chip but still hardly cutting edge. My laptop has a GeForce 8600M GT in it which is roughly comparable, and it just about manages to get 30FPS at max detail in COD4, UT3.

If there was another model released with a more powerful graphics card you could possibly get hold of the card from one of those from a 3rd-party dealer, on somewhere like NotebookForums.com. This is what I did with my old Dell XPS Gen 2 - took it from a 6800 Ultra to a 7800GTX.

Additionally, it would be useful to investigate whether the laptop is MXM-compatible. MXM was designed to be a common standard for laptop graphics cards, and while it has been slow to catch on a number of models support it.

Check out this table to see if your machine is in the list:

MXM List
