Default Nvidia 5900 Non Ultra or ATI 9600XT

This is apparently a question I should have asked before buying. The 5900 Non Ultra runs about $220ish, about $20 more than I gave for my 9600XT but I have someone that wants mine and I ve been looking at the FPS and benchmarks in reviews and it looks like the 5900 has the edge buy quite a bit.

I can sell my card add a few bones and upgrade.........hell even www.rage3d.com gives the 5900 NU a good rating.

Whaday think??? Im not brand loyal, just want the best value for my money.

I know my PC is less than ideal with the 2.4 Celeron but if I can pick 5 or 10 fps it would make my Need for Speed Underground experience more enjoyable.

Get a 9800 non pro and flash it, Thats your best bet for $ vs performance. I would stay with ATi right now.

9500pro (if you can find)
9600Pro Minor OC to XT speed
9700Pro Still awsome
9800Non-Pron(flash to XT)

Yea, the 9800 non-pro (NOT SE!!!!!!!!) runs $220 to $250 but considering it can be flashed with either the Pro or XT BIOS (I'd not do XT though since it has 128mb less mem) and then OC'd as well as they can you essentially get a real top end card for about $50+ less than it would cost...

Another good option is the 9700 Pro, they run at about $200-$250ish and they perform about 20-50% better than the 9600 XT.

I too would say stay away from nVidia because their cards just arn't going to cut it with next gen games no matter what they say. Their new drivers dont fix the problem, they just skirt around it .

My short list:

9800 (flash to pro, again, only if under $250)
9700 Pro (if you can get it for under $250)
9500 Pro (only with "L" shaped memory, 2 on top 2 on side; flash to 9700 Pro BIOS and OC)
9600 Pro (just OC it to XT speeds)
