| Apex Elite Expert Tech | well, i am having serious trouble with my 5600 256mb the thing no longer boots windows, i havent been able to try the card on my other system because it is taped inside a cardboard box and is very volitile, and the PSU in it is unsheilded, i electrocuted myself a few time working in it (damn stupidity, but not as bad as one time i had 120 volts run through my heart )the problem started after moving my computer, testing out a few fans after powering it on and off w/o a monitor so i wdidnt know if there were any problems then, but when i brought it back to my house- and i booted, its POSTs, evverything seems fine, i get to the first winxp loading screen, that goes fine, then the monitor looses a signal- and never gets one back, i threw in my TNT2 to see if it was the 5600, and now it works fine (well, fine for a TNT2 )if i boot in VGA mode with the 5600 it works fine, but its in VGA mode, and thats not fine, the monitor also looses a signal when i screw around with any video settings in VGA mode- and they dont come back, even after the 14 second ro whatever as far as i know, the computer keeps working after i loose the signal, i just cant see it HELP! i can hold out for awhile wiht a crappy card, but not too long! heres my rig: winxp pro 2.4c sis 648FX- MSI Neo 684-F 512 samsung ddr400 gainward 5600 256 dvi/tv out (750 FX ultra package i think) 400w max hercules (generic i think) PSU 80GB western Digital caviar |

| Apex Elite Expert Tech | yeah,i have had a similar problem before, this one is different, that one was realted to lock ups and not enough power- it was mroe than just his boot problem, i also get this boot problem when trying to use integrated video on a install of windows form another computer, with both 2k and xp- even after deleting the enum directory- if that may help at all or might it be trying to use the dvi out instead? |
