Angry Unknown BSOD

I recently bought the Gigabyte GA-P3L-S3L and the XFX GeForce8600Gt...
The problem is that every time i run a game it will crash to the blue screen and reboot
,but the blue screen wil only appear for 1sec then reboot so i cant see what problem it is,but it will work perfectly fine on the desktop EVERYTHING is up to date.
Here are my specs...

Intel Pentium 4 524 3.06ghz Socket 775
MainBoard:Gigabyte GA-P3L-S3L
RAM:Kingston DDR2 667mhz
Graphics Card:XFX Geforce 8600Gt 256Mb
PSU:BESTA Silent Dual 550Watt

In order to keep the Blue screen up longer do this.
Right click my computer, Choose properties, select the
advanced tab. Click the settings button in the startup
and recovery pane. Uncheck Automatically restart.
Click Ok and Ok. The BSOD will now remain visible until
you force a restart. Ctrl-Alt-Del or the reset button.

nv4_mini.sys points to your graphics card/its drivers causing the problem.

Use Driver Cleaner to remove your current nVidia drivers COMPLETELY, then reinstall the latest certified drivers from nVidias website.

Hope that helps.

Try a different driver and see if the problem remains. And check the basic settings
and compare them to each driver version. As in core & memory speeds and temps.
The driver your using now may just have a issue with your system some how.

Try a different PSU if you can get one to borrow. If that doesn't help, try a different video card. Swapping parts out is the only real way to zero in on a problem.

So this problem occurs with each of the video cards?

If yes, two questions:
1. What's your PSU make/model? (edit: whoops, just went back and re-read.) Okay, swap out the PSU with something else, preferably a single-rail unit with a high Amp +12v line.
2. Have you run memtest?

Well, for one, Vista sux. I realize WinXP wasn't working for you, so you probably didn't have much of a choice, but everything you've been telling us has pointed toward graphics problems, particularly with the error code you posted.

So, since swapping out three different graphics cards didn't change anything, I'd hazard a guess and say your PCIx slot might be having a problem. IE, swap out the motherboard.

THen go back to XP ... it's already been proven time and time again to have superior performance for games.
