Default fps vs Hz

Tom's HW guide has a chart for video cards using AMD Athlon cpu's found here: http://www4.tomshardware.com/graphic...2.html#aquanox
and for the test it's using Aquanox @ 1024x768 @ 32bit @ 60Hz.
Aquinox is a grapically busy game, 32 bit is high end, so why 60Hz for a monitor setting? Why so low? What's the connection between game fps and the Hz setting for your monitor, if any?

But 60Hz would be more strain on your eyes. And I'd think the majority of gamers would have a setting of 75 or higher.

yeah, anyone with an iota of computer gaming knowledge would have their refresh rate set at 75Hz or higher...but if they're using an LCD, then that kind of refresh will hose the LCD.

Remember: There's no eye strain with LCDs...

Word, preach on pimp_joose. Refresh rates on LCD's is the whole screne at once, not a horizontal tracing...
