Abit Ti4200 8x OTES Prob

Got a Abit siluro gf4 i4200 8x otes and am having probs with it. When i install it in my machine(xp2400, 512mb pc2700,msi k72ng n-force2)running xp home. Starts ok recognises card i install drivers blah blah but then when i reboot it gets to starting xp prompt then the monitor turns itself off and wont come back on. Same thing happens when i restart in previous working mode and then try to change the screen resolution.Btw tried it in my other computer at home and same thing happens anyone with any ideas?

could have anything to do with the power settings in the bios?

check the recommended voltage, and the aperture.

also check the agp settings.

Not sure about your board, but it sounds like it's something in the way the agp communicates with the card. Or a bum card, but lets not say that just yet eh??

try using older drivers. Or newer ones depending on the drivers you are using.

start in vga mode install drivers, restart.
