| Someone I know who is an avid gamer and owns a 8800GTX told me that if I raise the voltage in the video card bios it will help keep my 8800GTS cooler. (1) How do you get into the Video BIOS? (2) Is any of this actually true? | ||

| I think its bull raising the volts will most likely make it run hotter but it will give you higher overclocks(I know you don't o/c) and it will void your warrety. But anyway, There are programs for it that you could probably get from Guru3d.com, just make sure its for the 8800 series cards. | ||

| Sempr0n? | I've never heard of any situation in which raising voltage creates less heat. The only reason for a voltage increase is to achieve a better overclock. If you want to have a tinker though, I suggest this little app... Download NVIDIA BIOS Editor (NiBiTor) 3.4a - BIOS editor for nVIDIA cards - Change hidden features, sign-on message, etc. on Nvidia cards - Softpedia It's a vidbios reader/tweaker, and you can use to adjust all sorts of stuff. In fact I was contemplating using it to overclock my stream processors, but there's no need for the extra power with current games. | |
