Default MSI GeForce 4 Ti 4200 - RANT

Man these c0cksuckers at MSI are pissing me off.

I send an MSI GeForce 4 Ti 4200 back to them with video artifacts all over the screen in the BIOS - and they sent the fcuking thing back to me on Friday, with a little print out saying (and I quote)

Quote:
This item has been fixed and tested pass the MSI testing program

I swear to God that they didn't even take the fcuking card out of the packaging - it was shipped back to me in the same box, with the same bubble wrap, and the same static bag - packed the same way I sent it.

I give them a call today to see WTF is up with sending a defective card out as repaired, and they tell me to contact 'customer service'. I'm just pissed... This is what I put on the RMA problem description:

Quote:
Problem Description: Video artifacts all over screen - EVEN IN BIOS, and after installing current drivers from Nvidia (52.16). Card was tested on an MSI MS-6380-E v1.0 motherboard, AND an Intel D865GBV motherboard - problem follows the CARD. Known good ATI card works fine on the MSI MS6380-E motherboard. After installing drivers, Windows 2000 AND Windows XP report the same blue screen: STOP 0x000000EA - indicating a hardware failure.

Anyone else had problems with MSI RMA's before???

no, but i'm glad you posted this. i'm putting together a hardware list for my next PC and it includes an MSI motherboard and a GF-4 card.

keep me posted on how things turn out, be nice to know ahead of time if i'm buying conflicting hardware before i shell out the cash.

No, but I had the same problem with a Gainward card. Had to RMA it. You sound like you are as pizzed at MSI as I was at Soyo.

If not, I'm pretty damn close...I've been supporting MSI for a while now, because I've never had issues with their parts - 20-something motherboards, and a handful of video cards...friends of mine have had no issues with RMA's, but that was a couple of years ago...I'm just pissed at how they're treating me...It's not like I submitted an incomplete/n00b/invalid request...they bastards didn't even look at the damn thing. The tech on the phone couldn't tell me what they did to repair...he just kept saying to call customer service.

Bastards...

Overkill....this is the first time I've ever had problems with MSI stuff...I've bought 20+ motherboards and a handful of video cards from them for a number of systems for family and friends...this service experience is complete crap though. If I were you I'd go ATI on the video card. They have awesome service...I've had to return 2 cards to them so far, and I got them both back within 2 weeks.

Looks like their language skills are as good as their testing programme

Customer Service? I can't wait to see what they'll do ... drop their pants, write "kiss this" on their butt, sit on a photocopier & send you the result?

I'd laugh if it wasn't for the fact they're trying to shaft you

I'm going to take pictures of the screen tomorrow while it's starting...that way y'all can see what's required to pass an MSI testing procedure
