The easiest way would be to get Riva tuner or Power strip. sorry dont have the links for yall. Just do a google search. You should find them.

Ok follow these steps and your good to go. Goto www.guru3d.com, and look to the left and click rivatuner as shown here

Now download it and install it. When you run the program it will say that there is no supported drivers, but just click on the arrow anyway and pick the first option that looks like a video card.

ok last here you are have fun overclocking but dont push too far unless you have a heatsink fan.

hey chunckonuts the ez version has slower memory so try to raise your memory slowly to 300 if on the way you get graphic errors liek lines and stuff while playing a game thats all the farther you can go. Hope my above post helped every1 with radeon 9600 cards out to show them the dark art of overclocking

didnt help me at all... i tried setting up my core from 324 to 350.. and tested and pressed OK.. then i viewed the monitoring graph and its would run for 350 for a couple of seonds and then it would switch back to 325 by itself.. I even disabled VPU recover from the cataylst but still same **** happenes.

you might have to flash the BIOS to allow for overclocking...I had to do that on my 9500Pro...

Its abit off topic but I have a 9800 np flashed to 9800 Pro and my 3DMark01 and 03 scores are all over the place, one time its 15,000, another its 11,000.... Seems really inconsistant. Same thing happens when I OC, any ideas?

Just thought I'd drop in to post my results. With the OEM heatsink and fan on the Powercolor 9600 Pro EZ 128mb (same card I have) ... I got the core up to 500mhz (499) and the memory up to 220mhz (222) using the Omega drivers. Thats a pretty impressive jump on the core for me. 100mhz without adding a thing. The memory as someone mentioned earlier, is slower on the EZ's so that 22mhz overclock only resulted in 444mhz vs. 400mhz. Still nowhere near the 600mhz non-EZ models have. I kind of regret not getting the non-EZ .. then again, everything that's out runs silky smooth except Halo, which runs like crap on any system.

Don't take my results as "what it should do" but rather just an example of what might be possible. The memory is really the limiting factor. I ran 3dMark2003 stable for 5 times in a row after jumping the clocks as high as they are. I would even bet the core could be bumped a bit higher but I am going to leave them where they are simply because I don't want to damage what I have. My other card is a GeForce3 Ti200. While good in its day, I couldn't go back.

So, the 9600 cards have a slower memory clock than my 9000 pro? (Mines default 250mhz, 500DDR) Seems kinda odd.

You dont really flash the bios .. you simply use a tool called "Rad Clocker" .. or you can install the Omega drivers available at http://www.omegacorner.com/. Then you will be able to adjust the clock speeds of both the core and memory.

I got nothing running in the backround ever, almost always CTRL + ALT + DEL to check task manager too.. go figure. all I know is that it feels damn fast and thats good enough, just need some quality Corsair XMS memory and this thing will rocka! Crappy PNY in there now, got 512mb for $40..
