So, I recently reloaded vista. I was having a conflict between my X-Fi and the Sil3114 Raid chip, so I took out the X-Fi, plugged in the on-board sound module and reloaded vista. Now when I just tried to play SupCom my frame rates were horrible. I don't know what they were, but i would guess in the 15FPS range as everything was really slow. I turned all of the video settings down in the game and it had no effect. I downloaded the latest drivers from NVIDIA and I have the latest chipset drivers.

Now prior to reloading vista, I had been able to play SupCom with the video settings on high with no problems.

DFI LP NF4 SLI-DR
AMD OPTY 175 (dual core at 2.2)
EVGA 7800GT stock
2GB OCZ Ram

Also, my TV adapter displays really jumpy video in Media Center(Prior to reloading this worked fine as well). Media Player video runs fine.

Any ideas?

I've heatd lots of stuff about issues with the vista drivers, but I assumed they were cleared up by now. You might actually try finding a slightly older driver, say one or two before the current one. Sometimes certain cards dont like certain drivers. I know Guru3d has an archive of nearly every vista driver released. Other than than, maybe reseat the card. I would hate to have to suggest a vista reinstall, but stranger things have happened. Good luck!

Completly uninstall your drivers and then let Windows Update download the drivers. I had a similar problem and that fixed it.

Or just go to XP and be done with it.

OK, I unstalled the video card driver, the tuner card driver, the sound driver, and I disconnected my Raid 5 running on the SIL3114. The game is still slow. I noticed that the intro scene was not running smoothly as well, so there is something else going on.

The tuner card is running ok now though.

It's weird because prior to re-installing Vista, SupCom had ran fine with most of the eye-candy turned up to high.

Unless anyone else has any other suggestions, I'll re-install again and see what happens. At least Vista loads faster than XP.
