| Apex Tech God | Hi there! I just installed my ATI TV Wonder 650 and the TV signal is jittery and the audio sounds choppy/gurgly. The audio issue is synced up with the tv signal problem. I'm just wondering whether using a PVR card will provide a TV signal on par with what I'm used to watching on my regular television. Here's my system: Opteron 165 @ 2.7GHz DFI Lanparty Expert 2GB OCZ PC-4000 Platinum OCZ GameXStream 850W 2x EVGA 7900GTX 1.2TB total storage Creative X-Fi Elite Pro 24in Dell 2405FPW I think that's all the important stats. And with that system I thought I had more than enough power to process a clean and clear TV signal. From looking at the typical HTPC, I have far more power. From reading the reviews, most people are saying that this card has a great picture and I've been unable to find anyone with the problem of "jittery audio and video" I'm hooking the cable directly from the wall into the card, it's not going through a converter box or anything like that. I'm using an analog TV signal and I'm viewing the signal through Windows Media Center. Any help would be appreciated. I'm thinking of RMAing this and going with the Leadtek PVR-2000 if I can't resolve this problem.

| Apex Tech God | Make sure you've attached the cable securly and thats its been attached to the analogue in connecter. Make sure your cable doesn't have any frays in it. Switch it out with the one that use on your TV perphaps? It may be that you got one of the older versions. Those got recalled almost immediatly so you might want to check and see if you picked up one of those. I would not recomend trading for the Leadtek though. That ATI is supposed to have the best image quality on the market. Hope that helps!

| Apex Tech God | Yeah . . . I'm using a brand new 15 ft cable that's going direct from the wall to the card. I'm connecting the cable into the "TV In" port, not the DTV/FM port and that's the state it's in when the jitteriness is there. I'm not sure what to do beyond this.

| Apex Tech God | [sorry for the double post] Well, I uninstalled everything and brought my PC back to the point before the TV Wonder 650 was installed. Then, I repeated the install exactly as I had before. Now the signal is perfect. (that is, for an analog signal ).The only thing I changed was the connector for the signal going into the TV Card. Often the center wire on a coaxial is extending beyond the edge of the connector. I trimmed it flush with the end of the connector. Like this: ![]() I learned this from a cable installer back in 1995 and was surprised at the improvement it caused then. So, since I was at the end of my options in this situation, I gave it a shot and by golly, it worked. Thanks for the suggestions eascarface!! -hartigan Here's a screen shot:

| Apex Elite Expert Tech | He lives somewhat close to me. I have the comcast cable and can say that yes, it looks like that on the tv and also on my tuner card. I've had terrible trouble getting a good internet connection and good tv reception from them. That could be an entire rant post of it's own. Glad to see you got the choppy and jittery cured. I'll have to check the tail lengths on my cables also. Every once and a while my tv tuner does exactly what yours was and I hadden't figured it out yet. Good luck and enjoy.
