issues after x1800xt flash

so i finally flashed my x1800gto2 to a x1800xt after i got tired of playing with OCs in ATi tool. it worked with a force flash to a sapphire x1800xt 512 and manual driver selection and the performance difference is huge. but now if i try to open ATi winflash or ATi tool i get colorful vertical lines and i have to reboot. what is the deal with that? plus if i try to install drivers ati install says it cannot identify what card i have. otherwise it works, and is way faster than just OCing it.

Hmm..it may not have liked the new flash to some extent...It's possible you may need to make a few mods to the new bios for it to properly be recognised...It's been so long since I played with vid card bio's I can't remeber what to tell ya though (You will need Rabitor)

MVKTECH.net is the place I go for "Issues" like this...they are the pros! (Mavke helped me with my SLI 6800's back in the day when they were brand new)

Try a search in the forums for similar problems, or possibly start a new thread..but definately keep us up to date here too!

(That is if no one can help ya here that may have more info than I do on this)

could it just be an issue with windows? it looks like a guy on techpowerup is having a similar issue but with an unmodified factory x1800xt 512 card. otherwise CCC identifies the card without issues but it doesnt have overdrive options. it does show the overdrive tab and current clocks, just not options to play with.
