Default 7800GTX KO Help

Anyone try overclocking this thing above the already high 490/1300? I just went 500/1310 and was stable, anything over on the core clock and their are noticable artifacts. Are factory OC'ed cards ment for a bit of Oc or am ijust pushing my luck.

You're absolutely welcome.

OC'ing results are entirely dependent on the individual cards, as opposed to X card is good for Y speeds, all the time.

If I was a business person, I'd find the worst performing clocker and max that out (stable), then use those settings for all of the cards in the line.. some might do better, some might be tapped out.

But I don't run the businesses, and I haven't bought a pre-OC'd card, ever, so take it with a grain of salt.

stable @ 500/1310 ???

try running NFS carbon with those speeds and lets see how "stable" the card really is

Factory overclocked cards rarely have much, if any headroom for user-overclocking because they're already overclocked. You'll be lucky if you can get anything more.
