Default Extreme Overclocking ATi X1950XTX @VR Zone!

Ever wonder what kind of issues there are for the hardcore guys using extreme cooling with new hardware?

Shamino over at VR Zone has the latest and greatest from ATI, and ran into a few snags, the biggest problem being no software currently available allows the memory (New GDDR4!) to be pushed to it's potential.

I was stuck on that with CCC running. 927/1134MHz got me 17,353 pretty neat. (3DMARK-05)

I've just read this myself, there looking really good. Theres bound to be alot of MHz left in that memory, and I'm predicting some serious 3Dmark scores in Crossfire and Single Card.

Wow, that is quite impressive. It is unbelievable the advances video cards have made in the past year or so.

Shimano runs a dual stage phase change system that uses R22 refrigerant on the firststage and ethylene/ R1150 on the second ,It gets down to -110c as i recall.

Glad to see Sham getting some well deserved recognition

If you really interested he builds his own systems, and has plenty of worklogs posted to help you understand what its all about.

Yea hes got like 5 phase changes all on one car and its looks like an octopus. I remember a while ago he built a phase change jsut for videocard memory. Unfortunately all of his guides for making a phase change lost all the pictures when his servers crashed.
