Default Video Card Drivers - ATI Blend

I want to know is there an avantage of running other drivers besides the ati ones?

Does the omega drivers have some advantage?

Are there other ati drivers?

I use ATI's own drivers, and I've never noticed any increase in preformance from using any others.

Omega drivers can give a decent to modest boost to you 3DMARK scores (But are not "Legal" so to speak, you can still post your scores, but they wil never be allowed in the "Hall of Fame")

What they can also do is improve image quality a tad, that is the real "True" benefit IMO

You can pick between the improved image quality or increased performance during the install.

As a side note, they are also famous for being able to "Soft Mod" certain video cards to unlock extra pixel pipelines on some cards that were "Nuetered" like the 9800SE.

I'm a fan of the Omega drivers, they increase the performance of my X700 by abuout 150 points in 3d Mark and come with a modded version of tray tools which I find to be the easiest way to overclock.

May I be so frank as to ask why the Omega drivers are not "legal"? (Probably an utter n00bish question but I'm a curious sort)

They aren't Futuremark approved, so you can't post your scores on the ORB. Thats the only thing I think.
