| hey guys, just wonderin about the memory latencies on the videocards, now i know there are threads on this issue and yes i can see them, but i wanna be more detailed on the timings. im really after changing the burst lengths on th vid's mem, so i need a way or a program that will let me do that. Note: there was an ATITOOL that let u do this before *or so i think i remember..* but i just cant find it or im crazy, so any info is great thnx! | ||

| You need to press the "mem" button on ATiTool. Which Video Card do you have? http://www.techpowerup.com/atitool/ | ||

| NBITOR or RABITOR are used to flash the vid card Bios, you can change memory timings and other items (Voltages on some cards) http://www.mvktech.net/content/category/4/67/37/ Timings are not something you want to mess with casually, this is not like changing timings of system memory in the Bios...they can get you into trouble fast if you don't know what you are doing! ATI Tool may alow you to play with them without making the changes permanent, probably much safer than flashing your Bios. | ||

I don't see any reason to play with potentially dangerous firmware flashes when you can do it all on the fly with ati tool.

It's a bit like using "Clock Gen" combined with Bios Oveclocking...once you find a safe spot that improves performance, then you can "Hard Flash" it so you don't have to monkey with it every time! I flashed tighter 6800GT timings and raised my voltages for my 6800's using NBITOR, was pretty easy and is permanent. I could have also set a bit higher OC speeds for the GPU and Ram, next time I am messing around with it, I will bump it up a bit over stock...nothing too wild though!

Does NBITOR support the 7800GTX I have always wanted to see if I can get more out of mine, but on the other hand she is running very well at 520/1.34.

| There are odd things when Overclocking the 7800GTX to be aware of, NBITOR allows you to fix them
. http://www.mvktech.net/component/opt...2418/catid,21/ Mavke is the man too see over there, he helped me a bit with my 6800's (Tell em' Necro sent ya) if you realy want to get deep into it. But if you do a bit of searching in the Forums there, I am sure you will find out most of what you need to know. I used "7800GTX Bios Flashing" in the google search option they have to find that thread in about 2 minutes..there are 10 pages! http://www.google.com/search?q=7800G...ww.mvktech.net

| Yepper Waffles, we are DEFINATELY talking about modifying vid card memory timings, and possibly a slight bump in GPU voltage depending on the video card. If you have an ATI vid card, you can do it (Temporarily?) with ATI Tool right in Windows. I don't think it works with NVIDA, but it's possible they have added it in a newer version. I do know NBITOR/RABITOR will get the job done (Permanently) for both! | ||

| NBITOR Guide http://www.mvktech.net/content/view/2069/37/ NBITOR Download http://www.mvktech.net/component/opt...folder/cat,92/ Performance wise, like I said, you can sometimes raise GPU Voltage, change memory timings and set the clock speed higher than stock (But still safe!) permanently. There may be other tweeks too, depending on your card! ![]() | ||
