Question 7900GTX OC Question

Hi i was wondering if anyone here has had any experience with the 7900GTX and it's OC capabilities? looking at this score for 3dmark06 the description says 945/1040 for the gpu clock and i take it the 1040 would be 2080mhz effective unless this person has put the memory clock down that low but then again the core is at 945 i'm wondering if that is possible cause i'm going to be getting 2x Asus EN7900GTX in SLi for my new comp and i am going to be getting the Zalman Reservator1 Plus LCS. and i want to OC the gpu's hopefully close to that and the cpu (x2 4800) i want to oc to about 3.6-3.7Ghz seeing as though i'll be on Liquid Cooling .Any help would be greatly appreciated.

According to Asus, their 512Mb 7900GTX runs at 650Mhz/1600MHz GPU/MEM.

With a nice vmod and lots of heavy cooling, you could probably hit close to 900Mhz on the GPU, unsure on the mem. 3.6/7Ghz on a X2 4800? I hope you have a serious phase setup or nice PCICE setup...

that's with heavy cooling. Don't set your goals that high straight off otherwise you're bound to be dissapointed.

The people who get those wicked benchmark scores use Liquid Cooling alright....LIQUID NITROGEN cooling.. Those kind of clocks are pretty much impossible on air AND water, and are simply not safe to run for daily use.

3.6-3.7 on an X2? Not even FX60's with cascade phase change setups can run that 24/7, let alone for benchmarking. A more realistic goal for daily use on a passive watercooling setup like what you want to get would be more along the lines of 2.8Ghz...MAYBE 3.0-3.1 if you get a really good stepping. Max 3.2-ish for benchmarking. Suicide runs should get you to 3.3-3.4ish if you really push it on voltages.
