Well, after suffering some interesting problems that led me to first believe I had a dead vid card before revealing itself to be a dying PSU, then swapping out the dying unit as a temp solution, I've finally got a line on a new PSU AND an upgrade on the vid card.

My dad-in-law has been running on a pc that my wife originally got when she graduated from HS in '98, and it's definately seen better days, so he 'hired' me to scout out an inexpensive pc that I could build for him that'd connect to the net and get his e-mail reliably for the next few years, and in return he bought me a Thermaltake PSU and a Gigabyte Geforce 6600 with 256 megs of ram.

So, my questions are (and I know they aren't purely OC related, but please bear with me. 'brand new baby' exhaustion is settling in, and I haven't adjusted over to zombie mode yet.): What kinda OC options does this card offer? Also, are there any pitfalls I need to watch out for? Has anyone here used one?

I hit the net looking for some reviews, but the only ones I can find are the cust reviews on the 'Egg. If you can pop some links to any reviews here, that'd be sweet, too.

Grab Cool Bits, it unlocks the OC options right in the NVIDIA control panel.

It also has the option to auto OC, wich will get you in the ballpark.

You can make a few runs using 3DMARK 03 or 05 and then use the search and compare to see how others are doing with similar hardware.
