Default Question on 9800pro

So im buying a videocard soon (like sat or sun soon ) and was looking at a 9800 PRO and was wondering what the difference is between all these other than the AIW and the brands.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...ubmit=Property

Or if anyone has a better sugestion for an ATI card around the $150 mark im open to ideas. I play world of warcraft and battlefield 1942 (BF2 comming soon).

Thanks Sniff

9800 pro is a good card.....especially if you can get a 256mb one with a r360 core and flash it to an 9800XT and still overclock it.... for the AIW an aiw is a video capture card and 3d card in one.. you can watch tv, record tv and do what a normal video card does. but for your needs a 9800 pro for about 130 should be good. if you wait a month you could get a 6600GT for 150 or less mabey even find one now as it will outperform a 9800 (pro )

THe 360 is NOT 256 only.
My 128mb 9800Pro was the r360 core. I believe they started to use them in the 9800XT cards...

Well i bought Battlefield 2 today and ordered that saphire 9800pro so it wont look like crap. THanks for the info guys. I am still curious about the chip question.

Is there a better GPU cooler than the VGA silencers?? I have an antec aria (which i dont like and will be getting the aspire mini case in a little while) so heat is a BIG problem. My understanding is that they are great coolers and will help me get some heat out of the case.

If it's a 9800 Pro, it will be a 350 chip.........the XTs had the 360 (I did a lil research on it) and it won't say unless you either install and use a program like "Aida 32" You can download it here.......
http://www.majorgeeks.com/download181.html

Or pull the HSF off and it will say on the chip.........The 350 OC's pretty good.............but you should replace the stock HSF with a better cooler like an Artic Cooler........I've had mine OC'd to 411 mhz on the core and 356 mhz on the memory...........On these cards you have creep up to the top OC or else it just craps out on you............

It came today (i love newegg and FedEx) and ass soon as it comes instock at newegg or frozencpu ill pick up the arctic cooler. So now the dumb question but whats the best way to OC it? Like should i bump the voltage? What program should i use to OC?

Havent OCed a GPU before (if you havent noticed ) and i dont wanna fry it, its still new and shiny .

Heres my rig stats:

ASUS P4P800VM
P4 1.8GHz w/low profie HS and a TT 70mm fan (dont ask)
1 gig of Corsair XMS Dual Channel DDR 3200
and now thw saphire 9800pro 256mb VC (stock HS for now but ill put the arctic cooler on it before i OC)

Thanks

Well, the best drivers to use is the Omegas as it has all the OC tools right with it..........

OK so one more question. . . . . . .

Newegg finally got the arctic cooler for my card instock BUT does it cool the ram also or should i pick up some ram sinks too?? If i do need to get the ram sinks should i get alum or copper?? Its in an aria case and it does do like 2-4 trips a week. I just dont wanna stress anything that i shouldnt.

Thanks again
Sniff

HMMM so i was on the artic cooling site (looking into that ram question) and it says that the Silencer 3 doesnt fit my card (well an ATI card) . But newegg says it will. Who do i belive (is the saphire different)??

Did that make sense??
