Old GeForce 4 64mb. Practice @ OC'ing

Hi ppl i'm a n00b to everything - case modding, pc building, overclcking & pimprig. lol

. anywayz i need some help on overclocking an old geforce 4, 64mb. wat u guys think? any feedback apperciated, thanx

I bought a pny ti 4200 with 64MB when thay first came out . stock gpu 250,mem 500.throw out that crappy stock cooler i installed a zalman heatpipe cooler and fan and overclocked it to 335gpu ,610 mem.ran it 24/7 for about a year ,then pfft smoked! it turns out 2 of the voltage regulators were burned on the card. you might want to throw some small ramsinks on the regulators for better life .follow the overclocking guide and clock up in small steps.i dont think you should touch the voltage, that way it should crash instead of smoke. the highest 3dmark2001 i got with this card and a 2500 barton@3200 in an abit-nf7 was around 12400. good luck and ONLY YOU are responsible if it burns.

I'm gonna wait till i get my new rig up (one in my sig) then i won't care if i ruin it! not like i'll try and wreck it or anything!
