Read the advice at the very top of the forum ref overclocking. I got a decent middle of the road 53 MHz OC on the core of my 5900xt and 47 MHz on the memory. Since I have had the card its never been a good OCer.

Getting about 5400ish 3dmark03

Processor is OCd to 3.71 GHz from 3.2 - running about 54 celsius on the horrible 478 pin Prescott......I can get more out of it but the temps skyrocket from here - not really worth it. I like to have some leeway so I dont have to go into the BIOS and turn down the OC on a warm day, thats just sad.

I got my harddrive OCd to 10K rpm.......it flies

Well, first you must understand that my VC's memory timings are tighter than stock with my 9800XT BIOS. Core is OC'd by 35MHz and memory is OC'd by 55MHz ( 110MHz effective).

RPM OC? @ aaronrkelly!

Isn't the stock 9800XT speed 410/350? You say your core is running 5MHz slower than 9800Pro stock ( = 380/340).. 9000+ is a pretty amazing 9800 score, even in 3DMark03..

AND BTW i have never heard of anything to o/c a harddrive LOL i dont need to anyways.. 2 raptors in raid 0 is fast enough id say!

I had mg 6800gt at 440/1200 before i backed it down a bit. i keep it at 410/1100 becuase it has to deal with a lot of environment changes... and who likes having the fans at 12v all the time anyway.
