Default which video card to buy with $200

so it seems i have about $200 to spend, and its time i got a updated video card. currently i am using a ATI 9550 card. it works fine for all the games out there, but wouldnt mind something with a little more horsepower in it.

i dont have a SLI board, but here are my specs
DFI LP UT 250g
AMD 64 2800+ Oced @ 2.5gmhz
1 gig of PC 2700 2x512 running 2.5-3-3-7 1T
X connect 500 watt
this system is water cooled
i plan on water cooling this new video card as well

so i have been looking around on ebay and newegg. on ebay i can pickup a 6600gt 256 for roughly $230
would this be a good buy, ot should i look into something else?

i dont really care who makes the video card, as long as it runs good and can be OCed if i want/need.

so, lets see some opinions please

thanks

6600GT would be an excellent pick, I've got one myself and it runs all my games at pretty high detail settings flawlessly.
Although I didn't know the 6600GT supported 256 megs of memory?

isee the xfx 6600gt go on sale fairly often for about 179.

here: http://forums.pcapex.com/showthread.php?t=38043

the rebate should still be active and you can use the $15 off coupon too

well i just got my new 6600GT in today. too bad i am at work right now, otherwise i think i would alreayd be gaming or OCing the card.

i hope this card turns out to be a great performer.

now all i need to do is find a good aftermarket cooling solution, as i dont want to introduce it to my watercooling loop at this time. mainly due to the cost of $125 for the block.

anyways

thanks again everyone for the advice
