![]() | at present : 3.77GHz FSB 222 VDimm 2.8 volts Timings : 3-3-3-8 everything is pretty stable when doing burn-ins still yet when i push further I keep getting devide driver errors...... eg : http://oca.microsoft.com/en/respons...e065035c&SID=11 and http://oca.microsoft.com/en/respons...7bc92e9&SID=271 my AGP settings are (AGP and PCI locked in BIOS) : Core : 400mhz Mem : 840mhz also latest NVidia Drivers : 6.14.10.6703 haven't touched the BIOS though..... version is : 10/01/2004 board revision is "875P01-0" I think looks like my efforts are being thwarted by my card ?? is this the case ..... any ideas ?? I wanna get higher than 3.77GHz !!!! Cheers __________________

| whaaat? wheaties? | Have you tried raising you agp voltage? Sometimes that helps my stability when Im pushing the envelope. Also, you might wanna try getting a driver cleaner and install some fresh drivers. As for getting higher than 3.7GHz, good luck with that ram. Im not sure PC3200 will let you do it without severely bottlenecking your system.

| Apex Tech God | He is running BH-5 sticks 2-2-2-6 that ram will run 2-3-2-5 at 240fsb.. its not the ram.. its the divider like solid said. If its not locked at 67 ot 68 then you will losse from the bus being to high for the agp and pci.! Matt

| Apex Tech God | My agp is @ 66Mhz...would turning it higher raise my cpu/graphics card overclocking? I only now decided to ask this. All my computer have had the ability to change it.

Let me break this down for you and end most of the questions AGP Bus needs to run at 66MHZ under most circumstances, there is no performance gains to raising this speed. AGP speeds above 70MHZ can do damage over the long haul, I lost a HD (I suspect) by running at around 70MHZ on a old skewl motherboard that could not lock AGP. Most modern motherboards have the ability to kep this speed "Locked" at 66MHZ (The NF-3 150 for AMD 64 is one semi-current example that never worked right on most boards) The PCI bus (33MHZ) is directly tied to the AGP (66MHZ), it runs at twice the speed of PCI Example: 66MHZ AGP=2x33PCI if you raise one, you raise the other 68MHZ AGP=2x34PCI There are certain motherboards that for some reason the AGP will not "Lock" when you set it to 66MHZ. All you have to do is set it to 67MHZ or 68MHZ to activate the "AGP Lock" Don't ask why...it just works on some motherboards

| whaaat? wheaties? | This is true...All Im saying is that,in my experience anyway, you get better performance if your memory is running in sync

Yes, this is true, 1 to 1 or "Synch" for the memory is the best choice, a memory divider or "Assynch" hurts overall performance. It is often used as a "Band Aid" for people who cannot upgrade there memory for one reason or another. Please don't confuse this with the AGP Lock I was talking about. Tycoon, I don't know why they still include the option to adjust it, you are asking the wrong guy...I don't design the boards! Most boards AGP Frequency by default in the bios to a "Auto" setting, wich you have to change manually. But, it's agood thing realy since some boards you need to adjust the speed 1or 2 MHZ to make the lock work...

| whaaat? wheaties? | Not confused at all...I was refering to him wanting to hit crazy speeds with his CPU thats all. Thanks for clearing things up though

| Apex Tech God | Ive done some testing myself and it apears that raising to AGP Freq up does improve bench marks on MY system. But im not running any pci cards at all. Ive bumped it up to 72 before it locks up on 3dmark05 running it at 70 on my AN7 and it brought my 3dmark score up almost 150 points! I also did some research on it and from what ive got ppl have brought the AGP freq up to 78 with no pci cards. Running PCI cards they have been able to take it to 70. So let me go back to tweeking a lil more and see if i can get any higher on my 6,004 3DMarks 05, Btw solid update me if you would pls i broke 6,000 YEAH!!!! ONLY becuase of you ive reached this, Thanks for the help bro.Matt

| Apex Tech God | As far as I know, the Video Card shouldnt hamper the CPU /RAM overclocking, unless it was so unstable it crashed/ produced artifacts/was sucking a hell of a lot of power form the 12V rail. The 6800GT can scale right up to Ultra speeds, and beyond. You should be looking at a 500 GPU and 1100 Memory. What make/model is you motherboard? You have fairly loose timings on your memory which should help to increase your OC %. What was the original stock speed of your Chip? 3.77GHz is a spead usually reserved for the Prescott Core, so your already into high speeds if you have a NorthWood core, or a P4 C model.

Well, you are the first to report an increase in scores that I know of, is that the only change you made? Did you run the test a few times to make sure it wasn't any kind of glitch? If you have the time, make thread and post bef |
