| Apex Tech Fanatic | My 9700PRO overclocked like poop, well to be honest it fried itself at stock speeds because of overheating, i never even got a chance to overclock it. My 9600PRO AIW runs 500/700 easily with my zalman heatpipe cooler and barely is warm to the touch. Don't want to go higher as I'm a wuss when it comes to overclocking videocards, although I always overclock my CPU's to the max. I brought a 1800+ to 2400ghz, i've brought a 1700+ to 2200ghz, i've brought my 2.8ghz p4c to 3.7ghz @ 1.65volts. and i've brough a 550mhz K6-3+ to 600mhz. . Only graphics card i really overclocked was a 7500 to the extremes but i forget how much it was, probably only 50gpu/50mem over. Wait. . . I also remember overclocking my GeForce 256 75gpu/35mem over. That was a great overclocker at the time with its stock cooling. good ol 9000rpm fan. |

| X5-452 | Hey Mot I have an X800Pro borrowed from my friend for a week! After I finish overclocking can you add the X800Pro to your list? I'll edit this post with the max stable OC. Stock: 475/450 Max stable: PS: I can't do a volt mod to this card. Nor flash it to 16pipelines so it will be purely no mod OC'ing.

![]() | I actually have an old machine knocking around that still has a K6-2+ 500 and I OC'd it to 550 in an old Super Socket 7 mobo. I plan to get it up and running again soon on my home network with my wife's machine (AMD XP 1800+ with a GeForce4 4200 vid card, 512 megs generic RAM) and my laptop. This will give me a bit of extra storage capacity for those files that "I just cannot afford to lose". OCing is fun but sometimes a bit nerve wracking as you * * *slowly * * * push the voltage up to make it run stable..... The smell of burning components, or a motherboard with a screwdriver nick in the traces is an everpresent danger.... I have a Thermaltake "Silent Tower" heatpipe CPU cooler now that screws on to the motherboard so I no longer need to worry about the screwdriver slipping. The unit is awesome and my machine runs at a cpu temp of 37C to 41C - (lower level when I shut off Seti@home ) higher during games and running Seti. The vid card is currently sitting at 46 C as it is just idling with the 576/1150 setting. It has been absolutely stable since I started it up in the OC mode and the 3200+ CPU is also slightly OC to 2.3 from 2.2 GHz. Gonna give it a couple more days then try to bump the CPU voltage a bit as it crashed when I pushed it last time without pushing the voltage. Prolly try the smallest voltage bump first, any suggestions? Currently it appears to be at 1.65 according to the nVidia System Utility. |

| Supe-Hoe-Charged | Looks like you just got some not-very-overclockable ram. I've seen ram that you can't OC more than 5mhz period. The only way to squeeze performance out of the ram now, is to try voltmodding, but it's not worth it on that card. Plus, you have a huge risk of messing it up. For the 6200, some of those can be unlocked to 8pipelines(same as 6600), and overclocked quite a lot(~500mhz or so). They have a few 6200 threads over at xtremesystems.org.

| Apex Tech Fanatic | heres a thought "mot19". have you ever thought about making a bootable disk with modded bios's for different graphic cards? it would be a "must have" tool for overclockers "Tmod " over at dfi street has a bootable disk with all the bios's for the dfi nf4 boards with a menu that you choose from and push Enter and it flashes the bios.very nice and neat heres the link (i hope i am not breaking any rules for posting this - if so i apoligise ' but it is a good idea for all overclockers) http://www.dfi-street.com/forum/show...1&page=1&pp=15 |
