I'm using rivatuner to OC my 5900xt on the 56.72 forcewares. for some reason, it shows the core speed to be 300.9 after about 10 seconds,no matter what i set it to.

i'm new to ocing video cards, so i'm probably doing something wrong. just need help figuring out what

Driver version: 56.72 forceware
Card: MSI 5900xt (Hynix 2.8ns memory)
Rivatuner version: 2.0 release 14.3 - new year's edition

300MHz is the 2D clock speed, check the clock speed while running a 3D app.

Edit: BTW Dakas, what speed are you able to reach with the Hynix RAM?

I bet she gets hot And to answer your questions about the 5900, goto rivatuner click on the down arrow on the card name, click on the image of the card and overclock there. Then you wont have any problems

Question

I own an Ati Radeon 9100 from Palit Daytona(****ty i know) the engine is at 250Mhz,mem 250Mhz.I overcloacked it to 290/270 with ati tool and it`s perfectly stable; the problem is that i wanted to go further with the clock engine and i i couldn`t even with the cooler of an Athlon XP 3000 cooler mounted on it(now my video card looks somewhat ridiculous but due the circumstances...).Can anyone tell me why can`t i overclock the engine at least, further than 290Mhz when the heat is absolutely no problem?

You're probably close to the GPU's limit. I doubt you'll be able to get much, if any, more out of it without doing a volt mod (involves soldering stuff on the vid card)...

Here's a reference:
http://www.xtremeresources.com/forum...ad.php?t=20584

I don't recommend the pencil technique, but, as stated in the thread I suppose it'll work for testing purposes.

I like other people's problems.... well, mainly because they are OTHER poeple's problems!

As for the mod, it may help a little, but I wouldn't expect much of a gain.

Good luck!

Default FX5600 VideoSuite

Hi mot19, (and everybody else ofcourse)

I found your guide with the max oc rates... pretty neet! I myself have an ASUS GeForce FX5600 VideoSuite card. Rivatuner says it has a standard setting of 324/602 so I guess it's different from the FX5600 listed in your guide. Do you have any stats on this card or any oc settings?

Thx in advance !!!

Hello everyone,
I am Xtreme Noob, but managed to OC my Sapphire ATI 9550 256 MB DDR to 450/225 core/mem
I believe that i started with 225/195 stock...
I used that Zalman Aluminum brick as a cooler ( hate to add more noise)
please post your thoughts and comments.
