7900 gt sli worth it?

Hello,

I have a 7900gt already and my friend his upgrading his 7900gt and offer it to me for 100 dollars. I was feeling a little lag on the new games, so i'm considering purchasing it from him. But i was wondering if his should try selling mine and get a 8800gt or just upgrade it to an SLI. I'm wondering which one will be more of a performance gain, and if DX10 is really worth it. Or should i just upgrade the heatsink and overclock it?

Any insight or advice will be greatly appreciated!

SLi sounds cool, but it's not that great. I'd just sell your current card and buy an 8800GT. It'll be faster and it'll use less power, and it won't give you driver issues like SLi does.

For $100, yes it is worth it. The 7900GT in SLI should perform about as good as an 8600/8800 card, but no DX10. And while it will use more power, there is a coolness factor to it as well as the fact that you can't get a good 8800 card for $100.

Id say its definitely worth it for $100 if your PSU can handle it.

Ah yeah $100, thought it said Ã‚Â£100. For Ã‚Â£50 it's a bargain, but it still won't be as good as an 8800GT, although admittedly they cost three times as much.

hmm for a hundred it seems worth it ......
no real point gettin a 8 series cause of dx10
since not many games are out .... and wen there are there will 9 series

go with sli ....two cards jz look so much sweeter than 1

Driver issues nowadays are pretty nill I think. I'm happily running two 7600GTs and love it. I say go ahead, especially for that price
