Default Gpu-z 0.0.2

http://forums.pcapex.com/video_card_oc/113899-how_to_get_gpu_info.html has an answer!

GPU-Z is a lightweight utility designed to give you all information about your video card and GPU.

Pretty neat.

I think the version parser is busted... I didn't know they were on nVidia drivers version 36808672... no wonder they're so much bulkier than 77.77 ever was.

I found this program at the Inquirer this morning and have been playing around with it a bit.

I had always wondered (Without busting out a calculator) what the fill rate and bandwidth would be after OC'ing. In fact..it wasn't but a week ago or so I was trying to see how my old 6800 Ultra would compare to a new 8600 series.

GeForce
8800 Ultra
GeForce
8800 GTX
GeForce
8800 GTS
GeForce
8600 GTS
GeForce
8600 GT
GeForce

Memory Clock (MHz)10809008001000700400400
Memory Amount768MB768MB640MB or
320MB
256MB256MB256MB256MB
Memory Interface384-bit384-bit320-bit128-bit128-bit128-bit64-bit
Memory Bandwidth (GB/sec)103.786.4643222.412.86.4
Texture Fill Rate (billion/sec)39.236.82410.88.643.63.6

The old 6800 Ultra weighs in at 6.8GT/s and memory weighs in at 70.4GB/s stock acording to GPUZ, but the memory bandwidth seems off since that is more than a 8800GTS!?!?!

When OC'd, it weighs in at a healthy 7.4GT/s wich is kncking on the fill rate for a 8600GT.

I know the 6800 Ultra uses a 256bit memory controller vs the 8600 series 128 bit, but the 8800GT uses a 384 bit controller...so something is not being read right.

I am going to plug in my second card in a few minutes and see if GPUZ "Scales" accordingly for SLI

There is also a new GPUZ 0.03 version that has some mnor updates:

Oh..and the latest "Beta" driver for NVIDIA 163.67, you can find it below.

http://www.nvidia.com/Download/betad...spx?lang=en-us

And just about every version of older NVIDIA drivers ever released can be found at Guru 3D, there are a few pages of them.
download from Guru3D.com

EDIT: Aha.. thought so, just looked up the specs released by NVIDA for the 6800 Ultra...it shows memory bandwidth of 35.2MB/s

I have the BFG "Overclocked" versions wich are set to 425MHZ core and 550MHZ (1100MHZ effective) for the ram...the "Reference" clocks are 400MHZ and 525MHZ (1050 effective)

So I would bet that GPUZ thinks I have overclocked the memory from 550 to 1100 (Wich would be 2200MHZ effective!)

Looks like a really cool utility, just needs a few more kinks ironed out.

Just run v0.3 and it's a bit b0rked - doesn't read my ROPs, texture fillrate or bandwidth and it says I have 32 shaders, not 96 It also claims my screen is 23'' when it's 22''.

Still, this could be really useful when they get the bugs ironed out.

Reflux...did you try version 2 also? does that read the shader count correctly?

In version 2, it left my monitor blank, in version 3 it says "Unknown" but I do not have a driver loaded (CRT's aren't realy picky) I take it you have the driver loaded for it? and are you using Vista or XP?

Well, I added the second 6800 Ultra, went to the latest WHQL driver. The Fill Rate and Bandwidth stayed exactly the same...I was hoping it might change, oh well!

One other odd thing I noticed is it reads the motherboard at PCIE 8x instead of 16x, but after I added the second card, but before SLI was enabled..it did read 16x!
After updating the driver and enabling SLI..it went back to 8x...

Yep, I would definately agree with Dicknervous..it's got more than a few bugs at this point (I should probably link Tech Power up to this thread) but it still gives a lot of good info that is alot easier to decipher than using something like Rivatuner

Oh, and I submitted the GPUZ "Validation...it shows my Memory OC'd 129% (lol)

Yeah tried version 2. No difference, except it doesn't display my OS version. Monitor driver is loaded. Running XP.

They seem to have sorted it now. It detects my HD3870 nicely. I expect this'll become a standard just like CPU-Z is.
