Default Looking for Lappy AC Adapter

Hey guys! Found out my lappy's power supply is toast, and tho we found an inexpensive replacement on e-bay - here - we're poor . . . no, we're BEYOND poor . . . We po . . . So, I put my request out to you and beg for the mercy of the awesome folks here at PCApex . . . If you have an AC Adapter that's compatable with an IBM Thinkpad A20m, let me know what you are willing to part with it for. I'll get back to you after confering with the keeper of the money (aka, my wife), and if things work out, we'll seal a deal.

Again, just for reference, check out the the adapter I found on Ebay.

Thanks!

Are you sure its the power supply or might it be between the wall and the brick? Cause that cord is Shack-available and not too much $$$

Are you seriously telling me you can't afford $20 so you can use your laptop again? I really doubt you're going to get one cheaper than that - be thankful - a new PSU for my machine costs around $60!

If you're insistent that you want it cheaper though, best place to look/post requests is probably here, best laptop community on the web.

A second hand one would be cheaper I reckon, but you'll save like $3...

If you can find one though, any brand 70w PSU should work with your machine, it's just a matter of borking the connections together.

Hell, I'm not even sure if the wattage matters. Reza had his 130w adapter plugged into an ancient Dell Inspiron that probably only needed about 30w last year.

Hate to say it, but yah, we're strapped enough this month that $20 is hard to come by. Sucks VERY much. Thanks for the suggestions, tho.

Oh, and Funki, I checked the wires and the wall to the transformer cable works fine, and when testing for resistance, the power points in the lappy's power port are passing the juice, but the transformer box itself passes nothing.

Well, I guess I'm just stuck waiting a few weeks.
