Default Custom Etching

I have recently started etching some plexi for my mod, and decided it was something I might enjoy doing.

In general the price will be 20USD + ship for a 6" square and will vary depending on shading, size, and complexity. Of course I can do special sizes and requests. I will do anything from small jobs to custom windows. Please PM me with any questions or requests. The price for a full sized 12" square window will vary depending on the etch size and complexity, but will run about $50. Of course the prices could change at any time, so PM me with your idea and I will work wih you on the price.

All payments will be through paypal. PM me for info.

Keep in mind that I am by no means perfect, and my work will reflect that. I will take my time on each and every one to make sure you are satisfied. I will take pictures of the finished work for you to see before I ship the plexi. You will see from the ones I have already done that the quality is good. I look forward to possibly doing some work for you guys

Goodluck with this Snowman, you might want to show some lit up shots to show the iluminated effect.

Hello Sn0wMan if i may make a suggestion to you, i would put some prices on what you think it would cost you to make different size etches say like a full size etch window that can be up to 12''x12'' square, Say like me for instant the windows on my UFO case are 14''x14'' square, this is totally up to you since i know they will be custom etches and very time consuming, of course that all goes according the detail of the etch you are doing looking forward to seeing some of the etches you do for everyone.

Is that with a CNC machine or is it by hand?

I agree that your etches look pretty damned nice, especially since I've done a few myself.
I'm still a fan of a "do it yourself if at all possible" method, but there might be some people who are interested in your services

Have you considered adding to the etching tutorial to share your awesome methods with the rest of the community?

Thanks for the interest guys!

@Ranger1033: I would most definately be wiilling to do full size window etches. The price is what I am not sure of. If anyone has interest in a full-sized window etch, just PM me and we will work out a price. I am not trying to make a huge profit on this, I am just trying to fund my case mods

@Nerdz: It is all done by hand. I don't have a bunch of fancy tools, just a dremel tool and a flex shaft.

@Bionic: Thanks man! I agree about doing it yourself, but most people don't have the time for stuff like this. I am a student and when I am home I just watch my son, so most of it is free time. Also I haven't had time to look over the etching tutorial, but I seriously doubt I am doing anything different than anyone else. I basically draw it out and then color it in.

Almost all of my pricing will be on a case by case basis. Please don't hesitate to ask if you have something you might need etched. PM's are always welcome

You are so correct it will be something to ask yourself and the person you do the etch for to make sure you agree on a price, i can give you just a rough idea how much it cost to have mine made and they where made by HyperKore.
They where quite expensive but they do all there's by a laser machine and my window's again where 14''x14'' which is a custom size window, i had 4 custom size windows made and they where $120 for all 4, and like you said i am pretty sure you will not charge a lot, you just want to make sure you cover your self for all the material and time you put into them, and also to make a little extra cash to help fund your case mods.

Ps congrats to you on your new award.

I think you are on to something here

I always have liked the "by hand" look you get when you do it your self, Laser etchings are wonderful, but when you do it your self you get that "yah boy I did that" felling haha...

Performance-pcs.com also does laser etching but they dont do it inhouse so I am not sure on pricing. If the image in more complicated than they charge more so you might want to do that as well

O and congrads on your new award

Thanks man. The pricing will always be changing, depending on what I am doing, so hopefully it will work out. It's lke ranger said, I just want to make a little cash to work on some mods and for my time.

Just back up Snowman's comments: It is hard to figure out a flat rate, every job is different and can be a pain at times. I do the sandblasted etching because its more even on the surface for that frosted look. Etching with a dremel is cool and can add depth to a project. You can have texture to a feather, or details to an eye. Of course the more detail the more the $.

For something like that ranger. I would obtain a descent sized clear sheet (like for a overhead projector) Put the picture on a disc and take the sheet and the picture to a print shop and have them use there big printers to print it on the sheet. Then apply the sheet to the back of the window.

Or you can use a regular sized one from walmart or somewhere and use your printer, but you would see the lines from it.

Musclecars&computers has a very good idea, and maybe you want to try something like that. It's up to you though, and like I said I would be willing to try it.

If nothing else maybe Jobi can make a pic for you to be etched. He has some awesome PS skills and I'm sure it would be no problem for him. If you tell him you are wanting it for an etch, he could make it 2-tone and save himself a lot of time.

I have been looking for a etch of the Millenium Falcon and i am not having any luck on finding something i like , but will keep looking and maybe if i find something i can get Jobistober to change it over he did make me a nice desktop wallpaper i like with the Death Star and a Star Destroyer that would also look great as a etch window here the only thing is it might also be difficult to make.
