![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | This is the infamous "Bad Axe" motherboard that has been tearing up the benchmarks. This board isn't a virgin, I've used it to hit a 1GHz overclock with a 6600 Core 2 Duo, and that was without breaking a sweat. The reason I was able to do it so easily is because I have already done the OC Debug modification to give you the 1333 strap and CPU voltage options. Besides, we all know that virgins are grossly overrated, I prefer something with a few miles on it so the kinks are worked out. This is the board that I held 2nd and 3rd worldwide for a while in a couple different hwbot benchmarks. That was on air, with a 92mm fan, at 1.45V. Yes, it is a sweet board. This board is complete just like it was new in box. It includes all the cables, manuals, stickers, hardware, and software that came with it originally. Besides the unlock, the only thing different from a NIB board is that there is a bit of residue on the back of the board from the CPU mounting backplate I was using and I have flashed it to BIOS version 1378. It may require a CMOS reset when booted with a new CPU since I had it running at a pretty high clock speed and forgot to step it down before pulling it. New, this board goes for $275 at the Egg; I will take $200 for it and include shipping within the U.S. only. Out of country shipping is negotiable. Payment is via PayPal only. My ISP email is brosene ( AT ) kc . rr . com but I don't use it so don't bother sending anything to it. You are better off using PM here to communicate with me. I'll field any questions about the board here in this thread. Last edited by Lokie; 02-November-06 at 10:23 PM. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I posted this earlier, but asked Lokie to suspend it while I swapped out motherboards. I'm satisfied that I won't need the Intel anymore so it is now available. If you need pics of the board, you can find them here: Intel BOXD975XBXLKR ATX Intel Motherboard - Retail at Newegg.com |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Yes, it has all the cables, the front panel breakout box with different color faceplate, stickers, software, everything. The biggest difference from new is the BIOS update and the fact that I have unlocked the overclock options. |

Of course you may ask... Most folks have success with extreme overclocks on this board using a combination of hardware and software overclocking. I am old school, and don't like the software overcloking, I prefer to keep everything in the BIOS. I am able to get a few extra MHz on the Asus board using pure hardware. One thing that does amaze me though is that this board becomes more expensive as time rolls on. Apparently, Intel cannot meet demand so the retailers are raising prices based upon demand. I must admit, this board easily did a 1GHz OC without any trouble once I unlocked it, I would imagine it would be magic with an Intel 6300 CPU. | |||||||||||||||||||||||

IC, yah you are jut like me, I have tried programs like nTune and they never work to my liking. I am saving up now to go Intel, and your are right I have seen the board go up in price on newegg. What Asus board are you using. I wanted to go with the Intel board, because I don't think I will go SLi any time soon. O and if Sparky does not get it I might be able to by the end of the week

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | First I purchased a P5WDG2 Pro which was expensive, but screaming fast. However, the temps would go way high when overclocking. I swapped sinks, had 5 120mm fans blowing air into the chassis, but it would still jump quickly up into danger range during a good OC. I returned that and went with a more conventional P5WDH Deluxe. I haven't been able to the clock as high yet, but the temps rarely get above 52C. I was going to hang on to the Intel board and build a second Intel rig, but I noticed I had some AMD stuff and other parts. I am going to use the money to have the kids build a new Dodge-themed computer for their Grandfather as a Christmas present. |

Bump for the big dog. I just watned to point out that the bad axe would be a good OC board for a 6600 or above especially if you want to run crossfire or sli. The 965 chipsets are better for the allendales seeing as they 965 reaches 500+ FSB easily. Goodl uck with the sale. Ive seen fully modded boards go for a bout 350 on someo ther forums used. I paid i think 320 for mine new.

| Apex Tech God | If Icemage and Sparky don't get this from you I *might* have a buyer for this. I've got to get in touch with him and see what his financial situation is.
