Default My mobo needs some SIMM's and a SX673 proc

Well, I managed to get ahold of an old computer...so if someone would like to just send me some SIMM's and a Intel i486 SX673 processor(as it is a dual processor mobo, I only have one) with the little thing that goes with the processor that'd be great Let me know if you have anything laying around, prefereably some SIMM's as that is all I really would need.

well I'm in need of an AT Celeron board or SuperSocket 7 that supports 550 MHz

I also need DIMM, how ironic

If you got a Slot 1 Celeron Processor or a Socket 370 at least 400 MHz

tell me what u got and I'll see what I need, I can't think of it all right now, it's about 12:30 AM here

Well, I have decided I am not going to pay money for anything...If anyone just has some SIMM's they'd like to get rid of, just send them to me instead of the garbage. I'd like to see the thing boot so I can play around with old technology...but thats all. I doubt I could even get it to browse the internet so it'd be useless.

I'm going to see if the school has any SIMM's left over crap in the technology department when I go back, but I just thought I'd check here before hand.

Well, the mobo has 8 slots, so I'll take whatever combination or just one.

The other 'thing' - are you referring to a math coprocessor?

486 was first generation to have floating point math on chip so no 487 correct?

And just what are these SX numbers really?

Kage, I'd start a new thread asking for some help deciphering that board. Post that link you PM'd me. Post another link with back of board

After googling, I can't tell if that square space is for a 487sx [I was wrong earlier - Pentium first integrated fp] or what they called the OverDrive chip and I don't even know if you NEED anything in that lil slot beside the clock because two clocks make no sense.

See if you can find some part numbers on the back - I didn't see anything helpful on the front. Do you know what kind of machine this came out of?

Yes and no. the 486DX was the math co-processor built in, the 486SX was the non math co one. Basically, the 486SX was a laptop chip, but they overproduced, and it made its way to the desktop market.

I also have a crap load of 30pin 1mb SIMMS..I might have some 72pin EDO around...
