Lotsa Cash: Intel 2.4C (800MHZ FSB) 512MB RAM ATI 9600 On-board Sound ABIT motherboard Not So Much Cash: AMD 2500+ 512MB RAM ATI 9600 On-Board Sound ABIT N-Force2 Motherboard As far as the hard drive goes, here is a quote: "Friends don't let friends buy 5400RPM hard drives" 100GB because size matters??? I guess you've never worked on a system with a 5400RPM hard drive...DEFINITELY go for the fastest drive...it's only 20GB difference...you can likely get a 120GB drive for 10-15 bucks more than the 80GB anyway (think Western Digital 8MB Cache drives)

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ATI 9600...the 256MB RAM cards have high latencies on their memory...stick with the 128MB models...

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | it's still really fast...not as fast as say the 9800, (or the 9500 Pro even) but I don;t trust anything from Nvidia now-a-days...they used to pwn, but the key word is USED to...look for the 9500 Pro if you can still find one...if not, then settle for the 9600

| Apex Techie Lite | For metal work I'm using stock Krylon primers and paints. For plastic parts, I have been using the Krylon Fusion. Nothing special about it, just took my time with it. (Invent, I go to the University of North Alabama in Florence, AL.) I'll get those pics up of the trackball and surge protector up in a few minutes. Not doing my speakers right now though because i'm planning on changing speakers soon I hope. |
