Wanted: Free boxes to ship computers. I'll pay shipping.

Ok guys. I need boxes at least 18" X 18" X doesn't matter. To ship comp. If u got em i'll take em. i'm needing like 4-5.

Needs to be smaller than 20" X 20" though. should cost around a $1-$3 to ship.

My suggestion is to look in the yellow pages under "Boxes - Corrugated & Fiber"

Call around to the numbers listed as ".... Packaging Corp" or the like. These are the companies that actually make the boxes. Ask for customer service, tell them that you are looking for boxes the same way you posted this thread. Chances are they would be able to sell you some extra boxes from a run they did for another customer.

If you sweet talk them... you may get them gratis.

Yea, the cheapest i can find is like $2.50 a box sence it's only a few. Most big box comp say they need like 20 or more. People in Charlotte don't have the sothern hospitallity when there working.

Was going to say the same thing. You can also ask local grocery stores, businesses, or even neighbors.

Wink Box size and USPS

On a related note ....

I bought 25 of 20x18x12 boxes when I started shipping the Monsignor Case of the Week from Uline.

Since that time, US Postal has gotten all regulatory about any boxes larger than 34x17x17 and they charge me extra. Seems this was always the rule, they just didn't enforce it until about 6 months ago.

Now in sq inches my boxes are 4320 and the upcharge starts at 9826. But square inches isn't apparently the rule. It's that 18 inch dimension that puts me over.

So if you have a choice, check box dimensions and avoid boxes with ANY dimension larger than 34x17x17. You'll save you or your customers about a $1.25 per box Parcel Post.

Well, here's a thought. I once had to ship out a bunch of pc's and I got my boxes from a local pc store. They have tons of'em usually and are the same size as the pc cases your selling so they workout nice.

Question

If you need to send heavy small stuff ABC'S liquers store have some good sturdy boxes.

On friday night they put them out after stocking or real early sat after they stock from the friday night sales.

Never actually measured the boxes.

Nothing big enough to send pc's unless there mini atx or smaller.

Hope that helps

Check your local liquor store. They almost allways have tough strong boxes and will ussually give them away. You might also try Best Buy or one of the big electronics stores.
