It's not a serial drive, it's an IDE drive.

I've got one of these drives and am kinda in the market for a new one, I'm thinking my primary is about to shoot craps. Lemme see if I can afford it and I'll get back to you Livvy.

I think since the drives are far from similar, all you can set it up as is a stripped array (RAID 0+1 I believe), and even then, it'll still appear as two seperate drives. Not too sure tho, I've never had a RAID array with serial drives before or anything other than RAID 0+1.

yeah, you should be able to raid0 them as one 240gb drive that should appear as one whole drive. if you were to mirror them, you will get the size of the smaller of the two (80gb). if not, i guess the worst case is that it will let you raid0 them as two 80gb drives for a total of 160gb, but it would be at 2x the speed of a single 160gb drive. (but defeating the purpose of having the extra 80gb...) but i dont think you will have that issue.
apparently nvidia raid and SATA and all that is pretty foolproof.
