Default WTB Socket 754 mobo/cpu

a friend of mine is looking for a socket 754 mobo/cpu to replace his decrepid 900 mhz socketA that he forces his girlfriend to use, but for whatever reason, he doesnt want to just break down and go socket 939.

what im looking for are:
agp slot, dual channel support, and if at all possible, MiniATX.. the latter isnt that important, he will just have to deal with the size, but agp and dual channel are a must.

i looked on newegg and didnt really find much of anything, so i turn to here.
pm, email, AIM, whatever... thanks!

just a bit of caution - i was under the impression that dual channel was part of the s939 chips' memory controllers, and that no 754's had this feature?

I think the asrock 939dual would be the perfect solution then, it has both agp and pci-e slot and its compatible with amd's future AM2 processors.

I wouldn't say compatible, the chipset I believe is but it will need a new socket.

Any Geforce 6150 based mATX board might be pretty decent, look at them on the egg and get the one with the best user reviews because some are buggy and some are kick ass

darn - JUST beat me to it. Since socket M2 has pins on the board and holes on the chip, youd definately need an adaptor. If they worked in the same socket, it wouldnt be a new socket type now would it

Anywho, this mobo suits your friend perfectly - and nicely priced at $58
