Default Looking for old skewl Video...

Hey guys... I'm setting up a BSD server in my house and have aquired a retro orange text on black monitor. I'd really like to use this but it has a funky connector on it that a regular video card won't run. it seems to be VGA with a few pins missing. So i guess i'm looking for the type of cards they use to run dumb terminals. Anyone got one or know where to get one?

Most monitors don't have all the pins... you tested it though.. A good place to find dumb terminal stuff would be www.newegg.com They seem to have everything, and I like their service... I don't like who they use to ship, but that's because it took them 4 days on an overnight package due to dumb strokes of lousy luck.

It might work on an old school ISA CGA card. Maybe even the hi-tech EGA card too. It has two rows of pins instead of three?

Well then, its a old skewl monochrome monitor, that might work on a CGA card. All you need is an ISA CGA card if the rig has any ISA slots on 'em. I used to have one kicking around, dunno if I still have it...

I remember when I had a 286, had a CGA card, with a "green" monochrome monitor...

Colour Graphic Adaptor. Though whoever came up with the name obviously was unaware there are more than 3 colours.....

I thought the CGA had 16 colours..and EGA had 64 colours, then VGA 256! w00t..And thus your video card history comes to a conclusion

Phantom- your link doesn't appear to work.
Hawklen - If you have one around i'd love to take it off your hands! The cheapest one i've found is 35$ a bit steep for such a low end card!
