| Before I send this thing to the scrap heap, I thought I'd I'd check with any of you more sado-masochistic pimps. I have an old WYSE workstation. I have no use for it and I don't have room for this thing any longer. I realize it's true value is ZERO, but in the remote possibility someone may be interested, I thought I'd throw this out there. Everything such as PSU, is still inside, here are some things I could make note of. Model # WY2108-01 80286 Wyse mobo Suyin 68P processor Seagate ST251 hard drive. large 6" x 9" floppy drive large......... looks like 5.5 inches wide 9" deep. Some sort of LCD display in front 1/2" x 3" This thing is VERY heavy so I doubt you want it all...if there are components you want, send me a PM, I'll weigh them, we could figure out the shipping. Pay for the shipping and it's yours. I can not attest as to it's working condition. My Dad thought he was doing a good thing when he rescued it from a flea market for me more then ten years ago. It had a green monochromatic monitor which I gave to a friend that really wanted it. We started it up 8 years ago and the unit displayed a binking cursor on the monitor but that was it. Being a workstation, it had nothing to display. I'll wait a bit and if no one needs anything, it's gone. Thanks! Last edited by prime-evil; 04-October-05 at 06:05 AM.. | ||

| OK! Big Akita has got the processor. In fact, unless anyone cries out, I'll send him the processor still attached to the mobo. This way I don't have to risk damaging it. I'll post pictures first chance I get. I'm doing a LOT of OT at the shop. Perhaps by the weekend. Be prepared for ugly! This leaves the case, the funky LCD unit, PSU, some sort of ancient phone/network card. Also the huge (probably in physical size only) Seagate HDD and the 5.5 inch floppy drive. Nothing in there that resembles memory sticks as I know them | ||

OK. Don't forget to PM your addresses. See above post about pictures.....I'll try ASAP. When you get the package, check the postage cost and that's what you send me in return. I'll include my address with the package. I'm not out to make money on this. The thing might be all parted out before the pictures get posted!! HA!

| Here are the pictures for anyone interested in what's left. Like I said, be prepared for UGLY, and a real pile of dustbunnies. The thing is already a bit bare; the motherboard, daughterboard and processor are going out tomorrow to Big Akita. The was a little LCD display that is going out to Kiusoma. What's left is the heavy case, power supply, 5.5 inch floppy, and the huge 6" x 9" hard drive. The case could possibly be good for conversion to a HTPC, that is is anyone is up for the task of converting it to accept modern day components. But it is a good size to fit on a rack with other home theater equipment. Like I said, just gonna throw it away any way, if you want it, PM me, pay for postage and whatever portion you want (or all) is yours. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | ||

| Apex Techie Wannabe | Where I work, we have this same PC, WYSE WY2108-01, 286 with 512kB RAM, Seagate ST225 20MB MFM Hard Drive with Controller, 5¼" Floppy Drive, etc, it seems all the same. What I don't know is, how in the heck do you get into the CMOS Setup? Our hard drive started just getting bad sector after bad sector, so we just bought another one (Same model, heads and cylinders) and it won't recognize it. After reseating the controller card, it says "Invalid configuration Information - please run SETUP program. I have tried hitting F1, F2, Ctrl+F1, Ctrl+F2, Ctrl+Esc, Ctrl+Alt+Esc, Ctrl+Alt+S, Ctrl+Alt+F1, Ctrl+Alt+F2... did I miss any? Or do I have to have some certain SETUP executable that I have to download? If that happens to be the case, can someone who has this PC send me the SETUP program, as I can't find it on the net anywhere. Chris | |

Sorry, no idea how this bad boy works. Dear Dad rescued it from a flea market thinking I would use it. I never did.
Capacity or physical size? Either way, It's been a while since I looked at this boat anchor. I could check if you're interested. In fact, except for the parts that were given away, the rest is still in my storage room.

My bad.. I should have updated the status of this thing as soon as I agreed to send it to him. But it was such an old thread and there was so little interest in it, it didn't occur to me. Sorry! But in the future if I dig up more old stuff to unload, I'll be more careful.
