| Well I just wanted some suggestions on a $200/$170 (canadian) motherboard, I would like SLi I guess, and at least a 200-300Mhz overclock. My processor is 3200+ Venice. There are so many SLI boards now I just wanted to know wich one is the best (im liking Asus). When I get this new motherboard I will be selling my new DFI LanParty nF4 Ultra-D, so Il update this thread then. Its been the worst piece of machinery I have used yet...*sigh* I have spent hours and hours trying to achieve the stable 300Mhz overclock that I got with my cruddy foxconn motherboard. | ||

| just mod that ulra D to SLI. and start hitt'n up one of the OC'ing pimps here....NECRO..cough cough. you should be able to get mad oc's with that board.....might be your ram? look for some BH5 those love high voltage and DFI is nothing short of juice .... i think BH5 would do well in that settup, but i could be wrong. i think investing in good ram is better than a mobo as ram can be moved from rig to rig and from socket to socket . | ||

| Bro patience is a virtue. Im sure the NF-7 didnt deliver insane results within your first week of using it, and even if it did that BIOS was childs play. Now that youve gotten a serious piece of gear with some serious options dont bow out and call it quits. Thats not why your a well known member at PR is it? Experiment a little bro and youll find that its one hell of a sweet ride. Youve got CPU-Z right? Run that program, and go to the memory tab. Right next to each number is a description of each latency timing....funny enought those happen to match your BIOS. All you have to do is remember what is what and set it to the desired timing and pray to the OCing Gods that it works. Thats pretty much all that ram crap in the DFI Bios means, or at least what were conscerned with. | ||

just some basic questions: what RAM are you using, and did you lower the HTT multiplier? | |||||||||||||||||||||||||

| Raise your CPU-Vid control voltage to 113%, than lower your HTT to x3. Than pull it up to 260 x 10 and see if it goes. If not than try for a higher multiplier like 11 with a lower fsb; something like 237 x 11 is just what you need. Also those are some pretty damn relaxed timings on your ram, it surely can handle more right? Also try dumpin some voltage into your ram. I forgot about that once and couldnt get a descent overclock even with my ram fsb well below stock. Its hard to burn up ram so dump 3.0v into that sucker and see what you get. Best of Luck! | ||
