I would strongly NOT to get the Nvidia card but insted go with the ATI Radeon 9800Pro the 9800 is beating the Nvidia card and it is a little cheaper also.

mustang did you miss read that? the fx5200 is the bottom of the line in the fx series. i seriously doubt that the 9800Pro is being sold for around $100. the fx5200 has proformance aroud a ti4200. some games it preforms before and some it doesnt. i say spend a little bit more and get a ati 9500 pro. it really all just depends on how you have to spend.

Very sorry I mistaked that card for the new top of the line Nvidia card! In that case the Radeon 9000Pro is right up your ally.

np man. just want to make sure you really didnt think that it was the top of the line. 9000pro would be a decent card also.

A 9000 Pro isn't DX9 compatible, as far as I know...
The 9500's and up are, if memory serves. Really its all just a bunch of garbage though, there wont be a decent DX9 game out for quite some time... just the stupid DX9 benchmarks.

I surely don't blame him for wanting scaleablity though. I am still running my GeForce 3 Deluxe (over 18 months now).
Nothing wrong with wanting a card that will last a little while.
