I will be listing my laptop on ebay this evening and I thought it might be worth letting all those pimps in need of one a good look as it will go for a good deal.






Specs:
1.6ghz p4 mobile with 512 L2
256 ddr 2100 ram
8x dvd in fixed bay
option for another drive or battery in optional bay
new 3 hour 8 cell battery
15 inch SXGA+ active tft screen
Modem/NIC
32mb geforce2 go card
everythings upgradable.
touchpad mouse and stick mouse in one.

XP pro, xp plus, office xp on hdd with oem serials.

I am trying to sell this laptop as I do not need one until the end of the summer. What would you guys pay for one of these? Is anyone intrested? Credit cards and bank transfers through paypal. Money orders and checks ok too.

This is like brand new, it was used for a few weeks.

I really want to sell it locally, I am starting to hate ebay costs!
And there is sooooo much fraud. Would love to sell it to a fellow pimp. I think its worth 1100.

I've got an 8000 that I would like to trade up for an 8200. Maybe we could work something out. I'd like to purchase it outright, but don't have 1100 bucks sitting around right now.

Well BigAkita, We can work something out, but I am in need of cash as I will need to pay the down payments of the spring semester of college. It's 650 every semester, and I don't want to take the money from my parents. I told them that I would not take a penny from them for my education, so I got pretty big loans on my back. Thank god I got me a scholarship. Too bad its only for 1/2 of the tuition

Looks like a nice laptop! I'd guess it'd be worth about $900 to me, if I were in the market for one (but different things are worth more to different people, so you stand a good chance of getting your $1100 for it on eBay -- Hope you do!). Just for reference, $1199 at Dell today will get you a brand-new 8200 with:

1.8GHz
512MB
Ultra XGA screen
Combo CD-RW/DVD drive
GeForce4 440 Go
1 Year Warranty

BUT that one doesn't come with Office, and it only has XP Home.

I know you can get one for 900 Euro, which will be top of the line of the 8200. You can get one from Spain but import tax is at 14.1%. I can't find it anywhere cheaper then 1000 dollars.

I sold my laptop for 1100.
Plus ebay costs and paypal costs, it came to 1050.

The person I bought it off also gave me 80 dollars because he only sent me 1 battery. So I made around 150 Porfit.

Little bit more saving and some more time, I can the top of the line one.

A new Dell Inspiron just came out but won't go on sale until april. Here is a link but its not as good as the 8200 in my opinion.

I wouldnt get the 8500 or whatever they are calling it. The desktop P4 might give you a little more proformance but its not worth the battery drain. ive also heard the new casing isnt very good. kinda flemsy. Id stick with the 8200 if I were you too. You can customize it more than the new ones.

The 8500 is a peice of crap. I saw the pre reviews, everything is built into the mainboard, means no upgrading.

The casing is made to brake and the lcd is wider so its harder to fix and you need to purchase a new lcd if it broke staight from dell. Yes the 8200 is great. Only thing is, I might get me an Alienware, but I dunno, they are a lot more.

same laptops but no paint. i havent looked there in a while but im pretty sure they are cheaper. just some added info....unless you want it painted.

Yes, I had a sager pII.
It was model 688.
Great laptops, built like a tank and ran great.
Had to sell it when I was in bad times.

But anyways,
Dells rebate of 150 dollars is no more. So now the 8200 is at 1349. ATI9000, no more on sale with the 8200.

So basically, I think they trying to raise the price on them again. Probobly not happening.

damn that sucks. they must have just changed today cause as of last night they still had the 9000. you can always buy the 8200 then order the 9000 threw dell parts. last i saw it was 129. i know its more money to spend but its really easy to put in. i have a link if youd like it.
