Default FS: BBA ATI Radeon 9600 NP

Built by ATI Radeon 9600

This is a plain-jane 9600 -- not pro, NOT an SE, with 128mb RAM. The card worked perfectly when I took it out and will give you your money back if it doesn't work when it gets to your house.

There are a few blemishes on the stock heatsink from the stock AMD CPU fan I had screwed to it. I will throw in the fan if you want it, it seems to keep the card nice and cool.

I will also throw in a stock 9800 Pro heatsink that i modified to fit on the 9600. I broke the fan that attaches to it during the modding process (long story..) so you will need to find a replacement or find a way to fix it if you want to use it. I will throw in the broken fan too.

I had the card clocked to 450/468 with no problems with the AMD fan screwed to the heatsink. Don't base your decision to buy on those numbers though, your results can and will vary (as we all know).

I have never sold anything over the internet before so I dont have any feedback to show you. If you want you can check out the feedback on the eBay account my girlfriend and I share at http://feedback.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAP...serid=john2564, although, like I said, I have only bought things from there so the feedback is kind of meaningless in this situation.

I am asking $70 shipped for the card and all the extra stuff I mentioned, and no, the price won't get cheaper if you decide you don't want the extra fans and stuff. If you can show me a few good feedbacks I don't have a problem sending the card first, but if you are like me and can't prove your honesty I want the money first.

A few pictures of the card can be found at http://praetorian.mircscripts.org/images/9600.

Feel free to email me at praetorian@iowatelecom.net if you have any questions. If you think the price is too high, email me and make an offer (don't post it here, I don't want to start a bidding war).

Being a first post seller isn't helping you at all. You may want to post some HeatWare, eBay or other feedback.

I am aware. Like I said in my post, I don't have anything to offer other than my eBay feedback which is all on stuff that I have bought, not sold. The only other thing I can think of that might gain me some credibility is that Ace123 can vouch for me.. I have known him for several years (he actually led me to pimprig).

At any rate, I said I was willing to ship first unless the buyer is a newbie like myself, so I don't see what the problem is.

You obviously don't have much experience with electronics. If you did you would know that it is perfectly normal for components to be slightly bent or twisted when they are placed on a PCB. Open up your case and look at your motherboard and video card for a demonstration.

You really should think before you decide to take a dump on someone's thread.

Dude, read the rules, no making offers in the thread. If you want to, send a PM.

however I do have more experience because I test electronics, I could tell you everything there is to know about how they made that card.

I don't mean to crap this thread but a bent lead like that is NOT normal, infact ATi has higher IPC-610 standards than we do for QC. Our boards are acceptable if the lead of the part is at least 50 percent on the pad. I have not seen a single QC issue on ATi cards relating in any way to bent leads, and if a QC inspector passed that then they must have been asleep. There are 3 standards for IPC, 610c is 50 percent, and the one ATi uses I am pretty certain is 25% or less. Either way that would not pass QC, it should have been sent back to SMT for rework. ATi has always held higher qualtiy standards, that's why the x850 XT PE is so hard to find because they are having manufactuing issues with it.

Bottom line is a bent lead like that is not normal, but it can still be fixed.

EDIT: Upon closer inspection the part is infact soldered properly but the leads are bent, fix that lead and post new pictures

Thanks for the info. I had no idea that computer electronics were held to such high quality control standards. My experience comes mostly from mobile electronics and in the case of amplifiers it would be abnormal to see a straight component

Besides the visual aspect, is there any reason to bend the diode back, like heat (the bent diode being too close to the other)? I don't think it is a good idea to start bending stuff around unless it is necessary since the leads on some of the components are brittle and tend to break off if you mess with them.

You can, but be careful, those types of diodes are easy to break, they are made of a ceramic-type material. If I remember they are through-hole soldered so you should be able to bend the leads back.
