  |  Barebones Notebook? Is there such a thing, other than the "Option" pages at Dell, etc... If so, where/who is a recommended vendor?

  | Yes, I read an article a while back on it, your are kind of looking for a "Kit" to put together right? ASUS has one, you assemble it...I wish I remeber where I saw that, it was pretty thourough listing the components and how to assemble it. They got the HD, Memory, etc from New Egg.

| That's exactly right. You'd think the OEMs would put more out, since there are countless barebone PCs. I would be happy to get an ASUS laptop, but as they only market thru resellers, I need to find one.
