Just throwing this out, couldn't anything that stores data be considered a portable harddrive? Would a blank cd be considered a portable harddrive? I suppose in the aspect that a cd player is needed to run it, but hell, whose computer does not have a cd player? Same with floppy's, Zip- hell, they called the Jaz drive a portable hdd, but it was just a much denser disk.
Conclusion: Portable hdd = sdd(Soft disk drive)

ahhh...I was a pioneer in big mp3 players...i got the first nomad jukebox when it came out

those where the days... it still works fine.
