| Apex Tech Fanatic Supreme | I ve got one with a blown transistor which im hoping to try and fix as soon as i get some time. Anyone know which transistor is needed or how to figure which one is needed please let me know. I wish I knew these things were junk before I bought it but it seems several people have blown out channels on them for no reason. |

| Editor/Reviewer/LED Guru | yeah I know.. Mine was given to me (just the board and side braces) and its missing parts... 2 channles still work.... missing alot of parts on it though.. would like to find some and be able to get one working unit... I can order any part on it but having some that are totally gone on all three channels makes it difficult... |

I have a floppy bay fan controller and 3 channels are burnt. The only way you are going to get a new transistor(voltage regulator) is by buying a new controller and taking it from that or if someone has a extra one...I called a few places and they cant even look up the part # because nexus made it that way. But I took my good one from the floppy controller and soldered it into my 5.25 controller and it worked like a charm...its pretty simple if you can use a soldering iron. | |||||||||||||||||||

| Editor/Reviewer/LED Guru | I know that two of the 4 transistors are burnt on this one which is why I am trying to find one or two more complete units that are in the same situation... I think the main problem with this one is in the design.. The only heatsink the Transistor has is the point on the board it lays on and since it will produce a decent ammount of heat they should have implemented a passive heat sink on the transistors.... If I can get a couple and get this one or one of them back together I plan on atleast cutting up an old heatsink to put on them... The only thing holding me back is lack of resources lol.. Maybe if I call Nexus they will send me some of there RMA's NOT! lol |
