I Should be adding at least two more cores just after christmas ( well technically speaking - 3 cores! )

Hmm I want to borg my sisters new 6000+ but as its duel core I am unsure what client I should use and how hot it will run due to cool and quite running all the time. She uses it primeriy for gaming so it must never cause lag or jerkiness aswell.

Well as we all know, FAH only ever uses spare CPU cycles, so you wont have to worry about it lagging her games or anything.

You could set it to use 80% of available CPU cycles to keep it from getting too hot.

In other news, im afraid ive had to take my machine and my house mates (Arc Angel) offline due to mental electricity bills. Plus its friggin freezing here this time of year so we'd rather have the money for heating.

I will be working on borging more machines to make up for this, so stay tuned. Thanks for checking in guys

I have to admit I've had to stop the 24/7 regime again due to extreme energy billz
But getting as much as I possibly can done by tweaking the cpu usage etc when my borgz are runnin'...

Just do what you can. I'm fortunately in the situation where my primary folder is acting as a space heater as well as a folder so I'm actually seeing a balance in heating costs and electrical costs. Kinda funny.

That was the case here, but since i've been using the Hiper Anubis review sample as my main case, my room has become considerably cooler... the things just too good lol.

Im trying to source more borgs to make up for the rigs ive taken offline in my house, but nobody else I know seems to have anything worth borging.

Intel celeron m @ 1.06ghz - I know it's not much but every little helps eh??!

P.s. To those of you having issues running f@H 5.03 under vista ie the app just hanging or shutting down, here's a tree of directions as to what I did to resolve this little niggle in the system....

All programs>
Folding@Home¬
Right click
folding@home¬
Properties¬
Compatability>
Run as Administrator.
Apply and click Ok.

There, that should do it! it certainly resolved mine and has been running fine since.

Dex, Jade's lappy is now borged and f@holdin' it's little cely m 1.06ghz arse off
I had to pull the cpu usage right back to around 20% but its running pretty stable and the
lappy itself seems to be handling it ok!At the moment I would say my two top folders were
the p4 and the amd dually

So that's what? 9 cores puttin' out from Mobeus HQ...

As soon as I sort out some ram/gpu/cpu after crimbo that'll raise to at least 11 cores plus the gpu core(s) if it will allow!!

After much playing around with the various settings, I have been able to tweak my p4 and X2
even further! hopefully this will result in faster wu's. I'll keep y'all posted...

Well, I didn't get any hardware for christmas but I did get some cash towards it, so it shouldn't be long until I have another dually f@holdin'.

Now the good news ( hopefully )
I just recieved yet another pc that was on it's way to the tip!
I have no idea on the specs at the mo apart from it's an older system in a black htpc/server style case with a deadlock on the front ( luckely I'm good with locks )
Hardware -
a 250watt MACASE psu, a Teac cdrom and It's a socket 7 with the older type sdram
I'm going to see if it posts in a minute as I just this second got it.
Once I know more I will get the specs etc up and see if it will fold

After opening the case the insides do look clean and well looked after so I'm being hopefull.

Just added my Dad's Pentium D 3.0Ghz core2duo to my farm ( did it while he wasn't watchin' )
And another athlonxp will be added next few days as I have my Sisters pc in for repairs currently

I'll edit the first post Dex to reflect...
That old timer in my last post is on the bench at the mo as it needs some new tim and I suspect a few dry joints in places. I'll keep you posted!

Teams output has dropped off the radar recently, understandable with the mental utility bills we're all getting. But I have got my parents machine back on track, which is keeping the team ticking over, averaging around 150ppd at the mo.

I shall be borging any machines I can lay my fingers on in the next few weeks.
