Athlon 1.2Ghz is back up. I am wondering which OS to use for folding on my windowsXP/ubuntu rig as I tend to spend roughly equal amounts of time in each of them, the windows one however is used more for entertainment so is the OS with the less spare cycles. It's new graphics card should be here tuesday so I will hopefully have it folding again by the end of the week.

*when I have my duel boot rig running how I like it I will upload a screen shot just to show how much better it looks than xp (and as most things the fancy things on the desktop are mearly text garbed from log files - how much less resources it uses).

Heres something to help team members in their b0rging efforts. Found a nice little auto b0rging app whilst surfing tonight.

Auto-b0rging App

I've changed some of the settings in the .ini file so that when run, the program now installs FAH504-Console.exe as a service using 90 of the CPU (as not to completely overload b0rged machines.

Nothing needs changing, its already setup to install for Dex87 and Team 596 so all you need do on the machine to be borged is run the borg.exe then sit back and relax.

You can be in and out like a flash

Leave any questions you have here.

what app is that you have temp speed and process managing in. Its pretty neat, did you have to install the sensors first?

I use protien think for logging and tracking my F@H status, and i just installed the sensors and run the script when i need to check temps.

Conky its the most awsome program ever all you need to do is know what file the relevent information is located in like hdpram and LMsensors (I think - while I set it up) and then it can grab the text from that file at a specific line and section and display it on the desktop. So as long as you have a program that keeps a text log file it can display things using conky. It uses practicly no resorces as it's just printing text. I set it up according to this guide and then added some extra bits like the hard disk temps and changed the formating:

I've just sorted the connections etc on my router so as of now,
2x celeron2.0ghz and an athlon thoroughbred at 2.2ghz all borged,
working and online!

Kipman, can you give me a quick update on how many machines and what type machines you got running please, just so I can update the first post.

EDIT: Removed more users from the first post as they have not checked in after repeated requests so it really is impossible to know whats going on.

Hello, I'm back!

I have only the borgs listed in my sig now unfortunatly as my freinds who used to fold for me have since reformated and refuse to install f@h even though they used to fold and never ran into problems... sigh.
I also cannot fold on my server as it's pretty esential it uses as little energy as posible (its even running with no graphics card and underclocked) as its running in a freinds flat and hes paying the electricity in return for letting me use his increadably fat internet pipe to get round my ISP torrenting restrictions.

I'm running the beta client on my sempron, is there any speed improvment?
