my freind peter managed to get the GPU thing working and it does about one huge wu per 8hrs :O

so with his 2 cpus back online aswell you should see large boost

Ive got a 1.7 celeron media pc still going but thats not 24/7 by any means... a few hours a day average i guess.

My main 3GHz P4 rig is just utter poo at the moment! lol

My gf got a SEXY new sony laptop for xmas though... Core 2 Duo T5500 @ 1.66GHz.

Could i sneak a bit of dual core F@H onto the machine without her noticing? ie nothing at startup? also can it be limited to <100% cpu so the fans dont go mental?

Hopefully i can start to contribute a bit more to the cause :-)

Mark, if you run the console version as a service, she wont notice. And when setting that up, you can change the advanced options and tell it to only use, say 50% of the CPU when idle.

afternoon team!! ok dex ive got my 2 main borgs working...
ones on 1101/2000 and the other is on 1185/5000 frames. i,m doing my work in batches as its probably going to be easier with only one machine online at a time! i tried the laptop but there's a few bugz i need to sort out first!! i'll let u know when its up and running again.
and as for the duron rig, well i think the cpu's died on me but im going to have a proper look at it tommorrow or sunday!

One question...

How can you check that it is properly working on each core individually? Is there a CPU Core usage % monitor thingy (like Ctrl+Alt+Del but shows each core individually?)

Ctrl-Alt-Del shows two instances running under 'Processes' but not sure which cores they are running on.

Outputs fallen a lot recently, and is gonna stay that way for a while unfortunately, most of my housemates have now left for easter and im afraid im gonna be back at my parents house for a week or so.

It was a sad time last week, my Dad finally lost his battle with throat cancer and passed away peacefully early Thursday morning, about 3/4 hours after id been in to see him. He got a nasty chest infection after the op to remove the tumour and had been in a critical condition since. They had found another tumour on a CAT scan anyway, so I had been expecting the worst for a few weeks

Life goes on and I shall be boring even harder for the cause, cancer's in the family and I sure as hell want to continue to do anything I can to prevent myself ever getting as ill as my father.
