| I know most of you consider the Team PimpRig forum all about F@H (which it is and has been, bravo!), but the title of the forum suggests "and more". Well, here we have another competition in the works that I think fits the bill. It is a virtual stock market game that will last from May 29 to November 29 and is titled Bring Home the Bacon. The competition, if you notice, ends right about prime "virtual" shopping time, so he/she with the most money at the end gets the most toys. That's right, there will be a prize (prizes?) awarded for the winner of the competition. This prize(s) will be announced in a thread just before the competition starts on May 29. Why May 29? Because it marks my 3rd year anniversary on PR/PCApex (actually the 28th, but competition has to start on a market trading day) and I wanted to celebrate the fact with a friendly competition with my online family and award a prize to the winner at the end... simple as that. Although the competition doesn't officially start until May 29, you can join the group any time before that if you want and get a feel for the site, the earlier the better if you want to get "that edge" on your competition. The only major rule I have is that it must be a PCApex member (even if you just join for this competition) and you MUST sign up at the Virtual Stock Exchange using the same user name as you have here. If that name is already taken, I will make an exception, but I must be notified via PM if this occurs with the name you chose to compete with. You can join at any time during the competition, but you obviously get a better head start if you start early. Good luck and stay tuned for the prize announcement. For any interested in joining Team PimpRig v2.0 ( ), just send me a PM for the password, as this is a private competition for PCA members only. | Basically what the competition consists of is this: You start out with a half million dollars in pretend money. You invest this money in real companies just like you would through a broker (except you gain no real money, or lose either) with all the same trade deadlines you would expect on Wall Street. Does that help? Edit: Hopefully, a few people will learn a lot more about the market in the process. | ||

That is correct, but it does have to do with Team PimpRig (PCApex). Notice where the title of this particular sub-forum says "Team PimpRig (F@H and more)? Well, this competition brings the "and more". ![]() ![]()

| I am compfrused also. I registered on the site, but could not find your game listed. For idiots like myself, some detailed instructions would help. Sounds like a lot of fun, I am in. I have been doing a little research on the stock market, and this would be a great way to learn without losing any cash. Have a good one. E | ||

| Sorry for any confusion, it was kinda late (considering lack of sleep on previous days) when I typed that up. After you have created your account, click on the Competitions tab on the upper part of the window. Then click on the link that says Find or Create a VSE Competition in the middle of the page. Then enter the competition ID which is: PCApex That will bring you to the competition summary page where you can click on the link to join the Bring Home the Bacon competition. This is where you will need the password which is available by PMing me with a request. Sorry for any confusion, and no Fluffy was not responsible for this. I got GK's permission ahead of time but probably didn't wait til I was more rested to post the thread. | ||

| This game is supposed to work exactly like the regular market, including opening/closing times. I did disable some of the more advanced capabilities as to not give any seasoned investors TOO much of an advantage. As far as selling right at the moment you press the sell button, their FAQ addresses this somewhat in saying that it depends on internet traffic at the time as well as the fact that you cannot exceed Market Volume during the trade. Go here for more details and scroll about halfway down to Trading Rules and Regulations: http://game.marketwatch.com/Help/FAQS.asp | ||

I've been using this Site for a Math class based around The Stock Market. This site when you tell it to sell, it puts the request and takes a few minutes, but the only times you can sell or buy is during Mon-Fri 9am-4pm EST It takes a little work but defintely is worth the wait, its a ton of fun and i came in third for my schools Competition. (the teacher, who is a stock broker came in 52nd) I suggest finding a nice site that gives you lots of info on upcoming stocks and mutual funds, if they are available, i dunno if godfoot disabled them. Its not that hard to get used to and you can make a Buy or Sell order on like tuesday at 5pm and it will go thru first thing on wed morning as the market opens, all the trades take a little time (like from 1 min, up to 20 mins) but get thru its not near as nice as being in wall street screaming on the floors, but hey its as close as we can get The prices fluctuate on like a every 2 mins situation but also have a lag of up to 20mins like most relayed stock quotes(aol, MSN) Hope this helps some people

| This is going to rock cause I get live quotes via Q-Charts on my dad's pc, just have to make sure he isn't on at the same time. I cant wait, I already got the stocks I'm going to be trading lined up. So we can't do Options, Puts, Naked Calls and Puts? What about margin ?We can only buy and sell the stock, or are we doing Calls? | ||
